Top 10 Worst Movies of 2008

Emilio - December 4, 2008

New York Post has compiled the Top 10 Worst Movies of 2008.

10. "Beverly Hills Chihuahua"
We thought the whole talking dogs fad was over, but apparently, it's not. George Lopez and Drew Barrymore provide voices for this 2008 flop about zany California dogs.

9. "Witless Protection"
Larry the Cable Guy followed up 2006's "Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector" and 2007's "Delta Farce" with this "Witless" effort. Larry's 0-for-3. So bad, we didn't bother reviewing it.

8. "Rambo"
Did we need another "Rambo"? No, but Sly Stallone gave us one - an ultra-gorefest, even by Stallone standards.

7. "You Don't Mess With The Zohan"
Adam Sandler makes the list with his tale of an Israeli special forces soldier who dreams of being a hairstylist. Childish humor from a familiar source.

6. "Babylon A.D."
Starring master thespian Vin Diesel, "Babylon A.D." went way over budget and there were reports of ego clashes between Diesel and director Mathieu Kassovitz. Released six months after its original release date, the film wasn't even screened for New York critics.

5. "10,000 B.C."
"10,000 B.C" could be called the movie the Museum of Natural History doesn't want you to see. Full of special effects but lacking a shred of authenticity, the film was widely panned.

4. "What Happens In Vegas"
"What Happens In Vegas" stars Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz as two people who get married after a booze-fueled night in Sin City, and the wacky adventures that transpire after they also win a large sum of money. The easy joke is that this bomb should have stayed in Vegas. We took the easy way out.

3. "Mad Money"
With a trio of actresses like Diane Keaton, Katie Holmes and Queen Latifah, what could have possibly gone wrong with "Mad Money"? Everything, apparently. But mostly the fact that this comedy had no laughs.

2. "The Hottie & The Nottie"
Is it worth describing the plot to this Paris Hilton-starred stinker? We won't bother, because you shouldn't bother watching it. According to Box Office Mojo, the film grossed less than $1.6 million as of Nov. 26, which sounds generous.

1. "The Love Guru"
Our number one worst movie is "The Love Guru," co-written and starring "SNL" alum Mike Myers as Guru Pitka, a man on a quest to become the #1 guru. Films like "Guru" and 2003's "The Cat in the Hat" are destroying all the comedy credibilty Myers built through the "Wayne's World" and "Austin Powers" films. Thank goodness for "Shrek." "Guru" also stars acting legends Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake.

Jessica Alba 2009 Campari Calander Shoot

Katie - December 4, 2008

Jessica Alba shows off her body-after-baby in the 2009 Campari calendar, and PEOPLE has a sneak peek of the pictures that the actress says allowed her "play out this sort of bombshell."

"I'm usually walking around in comfy clothes, with a baby on my arm," says Alba, 27, who welcomed daughter Honor Marie Warren in June, "and it's nice to dress things up and feel sophisticated, sexy, and surrounded by so much beauty."

Campari is printing only 9,999 copies of the calendar featuring photos of Alba in swimsuits, high heels and evening wear. The calendar will be distributed at the end of the year. - Mike Fleeman

Empire State Building... Stolen?

Emilio - December 3, 2008

Just read this on Foxnews.com...

In what has been described as one of the biggest heists in American history, the Empire State Building was reportedly stolen this week by a New York City newspaper in less than 90 minutes.

The New York Daily News drew up fake documents, created a bogus notary stamp and filed paperwork with the city and successfully took ownership of the $2 billion property on Monday.

The heist illustrates what it describes as a gaping loophole in the city system that doesn't require clerks to actually verify information. Read the rest of the article here. Link Expired

Five Ways to Get Tickets for Obama's Inauguration

Katie - December 2, 2008

People.com lists ways to score tickets to President-elect Barack Obama's historic event.

1. Roll with Oprah! - If you're in O's entourage, you're in luck: word is the Obama's mega-supporter is planning a star-studded fete at the Kennedy Center on inauguration night.

2. Play the Lottery - Nearly a quarter million tickets have been printed for the Capitol swearing-in ceremony, with each member of Congress getting a pile to pass out. Some are organizing lotteries, like New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, whose office has received 100,000 requests. And if you win, don't even think about scalping your ticket; legislation has been introduced to make it a crime, punishable by a $100,000 fine.

3. Hit the Personal Ads - Single? Log onto Craigslist, where several purported inauguration-goers are looking for dates. One ? a "recently divorced, healthy, athletic, 6' 200-lb., very successful entertainment exec" ? is even prepared to take his lady "shopping for your inauguration evening gown."

4. The Old-Fashioned Way - Get ready to open the ol' wallet. Two tickets to the Creative Coalition's Gala Inaugural Ball at the Harman Center ? where stars Anne Hathaway, Susan Sarandon, and Spike Lee are expected ? are yours for a cool $10,000.

5. Sing for Your Supper - For recording artists, scoring an invite to the best balls may be as simple as signing up to sing. Prince, Rihanna and Elvis Costello are already in talks to perform at the Creative Coalition event, and Mary J. Blige and the rapper Common are reportedly interested. "Whatever they want ? if they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I'm there, and I'm ready," Beyoncé, a shoo-in, told the Associated Press.
